Our Mission

The Southern Ontario Strikers Volleyball Club (SOS-VC) originally founded in 2005, merged with the Brock Volleyball Club (B.V.C.) to become the B.V.C. Strikers 17U.  The club continued to follow its founding principles of developing the volleyball skills of our youth beginning early with the elementary grades in order to create, develop, co-ordinate and promote opportunities for young athletes to participate and excel at levels of competition appropriate to their ability and aspirations.   Our 18U team will continue to be coached by Lou Maida and his staff under the guidance of Lucas Hodgson Head Women’s Volleyball Coach at Brock University and the Director of the Volleyball Program for the B.V.C.  Click here for official B.V.C. Press Release regarding last years merger.

As part of the Ontario Volleyball Association, the B.V.C. Strikers 18U will operate in a competitive environment which will strive to develop quality volleyball athletes. The coaches will make every attempt to ensure near equal playing time throughout the season, however parents/guardians must understand that this may not always be possible. In the end the goals of the club take precedence over individual goals.

The B.V.C. Strikers 18U will emphasize the importance of developing and maintaining personal fitness for strong performance, health and a positive mental attitude. Sportsmanship, perseverance, the ability to win or lose with sense and humility, team work, and the joy of competition are all vital components of the B.V.C. Strikers.
